Installing or Updating rdBPtools
Last Updated: 28th August 2025
Installing rdBPtools is simple, just install it from the Epic Launcher in the same way as you do other plugins. It should be enabled by default, but if not, you can do so from the Plugins Settings Window.
You can also manually copy the rdBPtools folder to your projects “Plugins” folder to use locally.
Updating rdBPtools
If you update rdBPtools from the Epic Launcher or manually copied it – the latest binaries should be used in your project.
rdBPtools also has support Blueprints, Structures and DataAssets that may have also been updated.
When rdBPtools prefabs are created, these files are copied locally to your project in the “/Game/rdTools/System/rdBP/” folder – it checks if they exist, and if they do – it just ignores them.
This way you get the chance to Rename that folder before using the Tools in rdBPtools – any existing assets you’ve built will use the older, renamed ones. This shouldn’t be necessary unless I state something along those lines, but if you want to play it safe.
To get the updated files without backing up, just delete the “/Game/rdTools/System/rdBP/” folder – you may get some warnings, just ignore them. Then create a prefab – all the new files will be copied over.
