Section 11. Converting rdBPtools Blueprints to use Epics Mesh instancing

If you’re not wanting to use the default built-in instancing or the rdInst plugin for your Instanced Static Meshes – it is possible to convert them to use Epics ones instead, they’re not as fast to edit (or to render) so it can be a time saver to create them with rdInst first, then convert as the last step.

It’s simple enough, just copy your blueprint back into the level as actors, then select them and use the “Merge Actors” tool from the context menu – the 3rd tab in the window has options for converting to ISMs.

Tutorial 10 goes through what is need to do this.
