rdSplatTools Tutorial 1.1 – Starting Off

Tutorial created using rdSplatTools version 1.00

Firstly, thank you for purchasing rdSplatTools. I hope it doesn’t take long for you to see just how powerful and easy to use this plugin is, and how it will change your workflow forever.

What rdSplatTools does is give you the ability to paint areas of your level (landscapes and/or meshes) and use that painted area in your game to isolate game features such as SFX, lighting, path limits, action events, music etc. The painted data resides in CPU memory and is compressed so is tiny – getting the current splat layers is extremely fast too.

There’s not much you need to learn to start using it – basically, just go to the rdSplatTools Editor mode and start painting on your level. See the next tutorial for more details about that.
