rdSplatTools Tutorial 1.4 – Saving/Loading

Last Updated: 5th October 2026
Tutorial created using rdSplatTools version 1.00

You can save your painted SplatMaps to DataAssets at any time from the rdSplat Edit Mode, and load them back up to edit. You do this from the Save and Load buttons in the File Section:

These DataAssets are stand-alone with no references to other assets. They do store the landscape or rdLandscapes dimensions and location.

You can use these in other levels with the same landscapes and/or migrate to other projects.

You can set up how the rdSplatMap is Tiled from the “Bake” section – this allows you to break up the rdSplatMap to World Partition Tiles, custom Landscape sized Tiles or a custom size specified by you.

When a TileSet is saved there is a corresponding json manifest file created referencing all tiles.
